Post Conflict Countries Assistance

@Providing assistances to Post Conflict countries is one of the main pillars of PBfs activities. PB carries out planning and running activities with a focus on peacebuilding.

-2007 Activities-

Establishing a Conflict Prevention Network in the Republic of Sierra Leone
(JPF Peacebuilding Fund Project)

Upon receiving the first Annual Peacebuilding Fund from the Japan Platform (JPF), PB co-organized peacebuilding workshops in partnership with West Africa Network for Peacebuilding - Sierra Leone (WANEP-SL), in the war-affected Sierra Leone. PB established a domestic, conflict prevention early-warning network, and also facilitated setting up the Information Center in the WANEP-SL office.

Dr. Hideaki Shinoda, a member of PBfs board of trustees, and Mr. Yujiro Tokumitsu visited Sierra Leone and held preparatory consultations in January 2008. This project will continue until September 2008.

Supporting Coffee Farmers in Rwanda to be Self-Sustaining through Coffee Assistance
PB paid a visit to a cooperative in Rwanda producing Cafe Maraba and conducted a needs assessment to seek possible ways to make contributions to a coffee industry in Rwanda through supporting farmers to become self-sustaining.
